Odd behavior using CPM and counter input on DI-155
I had a DI-155 handy and hooked the count input to a Geiger Counter output. I set the channel setting to CPM. Its not doing this correctly. It does not seem to be using a minute avg. If there are 3 counts super quickly together the count jumps way up. But if those counts are spaced by a few seconds each the count is way lower even tho they are during the same minute period. If you give it 1 count per minute, it does not display this. The 1 count stays there for like 3 seconds and then goes back to
Recording Data
Im looking at the DI-1100 to record voltage, but enable to use a laptop for the specific application. Could I use a USB drive to record data and view later?
Rate Input time delay on DI-155
I am trying to use the Rate Input to record varying RPM but it appears to have an averaging time constant delay of approx 0.75 sec before it provides a steady state value after an acceleration or deceleration. Is there any way to improve upon this? I have tried varying the sample rate to no avail.
Power for sensors DI-245
is there some way that I can tap into the 5V power coming into the Datalogger (DI-245) through the miniUSB cable? I have 2 very low power sensors that need a 5V supply and ground, I would like to not add another USB cable just to provide 2W of power to 2 sensors.
Saving Data to External Drive
I'm using the DI-4108 model and need to record data onto an external drive. The problem is that all the data gets split up into multiple files instead of one single file on the drive.
DI-1120 VS DI-2108-P
I have a home built siesmometer. Its wideband. 0.01hz-40hz.. Ultra low frequencies are a really hard engineering issue because of 1/f noise and all sorts of weirdness.. Ive been using a DI-1120 since it came out years back. I just swapped to a 2108-P. The difference has been truly remarkable in the frequency band i am interested in. In fact its been shocking. The difference is not the 14bit vs 16bit. Its the far lower 1/f noise below 10hz down to 0.01hz. Where I once just had noise, signals have
DI-158U "Forgets" Default Setup
i may have originally put this in the wrong forum (DATAQ Hardware). Randomly, the DATAQ model DI-158U will "forget" the default setup. Opening a "reference file" does not transfer the settings back to the way they were set up. This is causing us to redo the settings when the program is opened. Sometimes, opening WinDaq will open correctly with the user defined settings. Other times, it opens with the out-of-the-box settings. How can we make our settings stick?

Device manager: DI-710 upload data button missing
Hi I've got a DI-710 which must be 10years old. In the latest manuals the device manager has a drop-down menu that includes commands like: start/stop upload data etc. However, the version I have (v1.61) does not have these menu options. What is that? What can I do to make these options available?
DATA Values
I have another question regarding the 4-20mA scaling. I’m setting up the scale to 0-2; 0=4mA and 2=20mA. When I retrieve the data the scaling shifts automatically from a 0 to a negative value (-1 see screen below), this changes the values that I’m logging please advise. I need the values to start at zero not at negative value. I look forward to your reply. Thanks.
csv FILE
I'm downloading information to excel as CSV data, the information transfers but the date format comes up with "######" characters, when I change the format I only get the choice of "date" or "time", I need both the date and time for reporting. How can I get that to happen. Also is there a way to change/modify/customize the name "Current", I know there is Temp, and other settings but none match what I need. Thank you for your time and help. Anyway to calibrate thermocouples using windaq and DI-2008
Using DI-2008 with windaq to measuure some j type thermocouples. When channels are set to measure J type thermcouples they read consistently a few degrees high. However I don't see any option to calibrate this temperature. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance.
Data ack for live fire event.
I would like to measure temp (fast) of fire growth and then extinguishment with a water can fire extinguisher . Woodfire 1 ft by 1ft by 1ft fuel package. I assume to use Di-245, and will require suggestions on thermocouple type. Thermocouple leads would be 10-20 ft for safety of my laptop. Only need one channel, or two maybe. Would like to have chart resolution of >200hz. Greater would be better. Any help suggestions are appreciated, FF Todd Poole South Burlington Fire Department South Burlington,
DI-149 counter channel
I'm programming in Python 3.5 on Linux using the di149 protocol. I'm having problems with the counter channel. When using a PWM at 50% duty cycle It undercounts when the srate is set less than 250 Hz. For example: If I have signal set to 100Hz and srate set to the min of 11.4 Hz it will count to 3 over 1 second. When I increase the srate to 250 Hz the count will increase to 100. When I use a hall effect sensor this low count problem becomes worse. Both the PWM and hall effect sensor work as expected
DI-1110 counter function with flow meter K factor
using DI-1110. I want to use a flow meter with a pulse output. Can I program unit to give me a output in gpm? I have a K factor for the meter, which gives me counts per gallon. Is there a way to do the math and display "GPM" units on graph?? thanks
NewData event handler only called once (WinDaq ActiveX with DI-148U)
I created a simple VB.NET application that accesses a DI-148U using the WinDaq ActiveX control. The form contains buttons for starting and stopping data collection and then a NewData event handler. Here's my code: Public Class Form1 Private Sub AxWinDaq1_NewData(sender As Object, e As AxWINDAQLib._DWinDaqEvents_NewDataEvent) Handles AxWinDaq1.NewData ' This event handler is called by the WinDaq Ax each time SamplesToCollect are ready for reading Dim data As Double(,)
Running out of memory using WinDaq ActiveX with DI-148U
I have a VB.NET application that accesses a DI-148U using the WinDaq ActiveX control. The following code is called repeatedly while application executes: Private Function GetAtDData() As String Dim data As Double(,) Dim output As String AxWinDaq1.EventLevel = 10 AxWinDaq1.Start() data = AxWinDaq1.GetDataFrame(10, WINDAQLib.enumFormat.FormatScaled) output = data(0, 0).ToString() AxWinDaq1.Stop() Return output End Function When this code executes, memory and .GDI object usage continues to increase
DI-710 Power jack
Hey I just acquired a DI-710-EL device and the plan is to use it combination with a test bench in a fairly rural environment. The plan was to power it with 24VDC source which should be fine according to the data sheet, the only problem is that I need to acquire a power connection that fits. Does anyone know the exact dimensions for the DI-710 power input jack? Sincerely, PN
problems with DI-1100
well, i have 2 devices di-1100, and i work with it at same time for data acquisition in a program in C#, and work fine, i create two extensions to work one for each one, but the problem is when stop it, sometimes stop it well, but sometimes the devices don't go out of the state of acquisition, and the message of DataqSdk1_ControlError appears when i start again my program, in the last version of the forum someone told me, that i need to restart the computer for erase the memory, and i does, but i
Autosaving Data
Is it possible to configure WinDAQ Acquisition Version 3.70 HS connected to a DI-155 USB DAQ box, to automatically save the data after a certain interval (say 10 minutes) has elapsed? We are looking to set this up due to recent building related issues. Thanks,
Software Works Only with Older Firmware
I have node.js application to read data using a DataQ DI-1110. It works fine with a DataQ firmware version of 1.09, but it fails with a firmware version of 1.17 or 1.18. These are the only firmware versions I have tried. When it fails the "Active" led turns red. This usually happens after a few seconds of collecting data. I am sampling at 1200 Hz. Why might my application not work with newer firmware? What, if anything, has changed in the API? I could not find any release notes for the firmware.
SDK access
I need to resume the data collection with the modules in SDK with C #, the problem is my interface for the data collection is in the second screen, and I have access to the data inception, but when I close this screen and return to access it, the modules do not start the data collection again, so I have to close my program completely.
missing Dll
hi to all, in this days I changed the module type that I am working in SKD, for a DI4108, but I have´t found in the driver that marks the documentation DeviceDriver = DI360NT.DLL I have checked the carpets where the extensions are stored, but I don't found the ones I need, I have also downloaded ActiveX Product again, but I have't found the extension
how to set di-145 sample rate
I have a di-145, i want to change the device's default sample rate, now i use the example(DI-145,c#.vb) to try, but i find it can not change the sample rate, i use the following words; DI_145.SampleRatePerChannel=10.0; lblSamplingRate.Text = DI_145.SampleRatePerChannel.ToString("F3") but the label always displays 60.00. so i want to konw how to set sample rate,i need some help. Thanks!
DI-710 digital I/O configuration
I have a DI-710 ethernet device, I would like to control the digital I/O port using Labview. I followed the steps in your web page and I can adquired analogs signals very well with no complication, but now I trying to send data (integer or booleand) to one of the 8 digital port and nothing happeds. I'm using the active x windaq lib and I can not figuret out how to use properly the "DigitalOutput" and "DigitalInput" modules. Some of the questions that I have. 1. How can I set a port as Digital Out
DI-718B with 8B38-05 Isolated Strain Gauge Modules
Hello, I own a DI-718B data logger with 8B38-05 Isolated Strain Gauge Amplifier Modules. When hooked to a strain gauge (full-bridge), I find that the output voltage logged by the data logger is 2.5 Volts. What is the actual voltage measured across the strain gauge itself? 8B38-05: Input +/- 20 mV and Output +/- 5 V Is it just my output divided by 5 V / 20 mV = 250? Hence 2.5 V / 250 = 10 mV? Or is there a more accurate calibration done for each of the amplifier modules? I don't seem to have any calibration
Labview
Hello. We need to read analog inputs from linear potentiometers and pressure transducers and we think your DAQ could be ok. But we need also to write our own GUI to configure the input and to elaborate incoming datas. Is your systems only compatible with software like visual net or it is possible to use also labview? Thanks. Ing. Alessandro Battisti.
Question on programming with VB.Net
I am wondering if anyone knows an easy way to read from the DI-1100 and fill into a Datagridview? I am currently trying different ideas but I keep ending up with multiple values in one row for one channel. Thank you for your time and help.
DI 808 live stream
Is there a way to get the DI 808 to continuously send a live stream to a website so I can view the data in real time? I have a device doing this currently, it streams out an XML to my website. I prefer the user interface of the DI808 to my unit and would love to make it work for me. Is this at all possible or do you offer another unit that can? I need to be able to measure 4 pressures and 2 rate's
Using a DI718B on a computer with 2 Ethernet ports
Is there a way to get Hardware Manager to recognize directly-attached DI-718Bs when the computer has two ethernet ports? I'm trying to keep my DATAQ stuff segregated from the corporate LAN. Ideally, the setup would be: One Ethernet port connected to DI-718B for data acquisition. One Ethernet port connected to corporate LAN to access company resources. I've tried: Turn off Windows Firewall service Disconnected all Ethernet cables Assign first port static IP address Connect Ethernet cable from computer
Minimum Sample Rate when using Auto Start on System Boot
Greetings. I am trying to setup Windaq to auto-start when my PC boots up. I'm having decent success following the post linked below, with one exception. When Windaq launches, I get a popup telling me "sample rate [per channel] was raised to 0.0762 (minimum sample rate)." However, the data file I'm using to provide startup parameters has 4 channels enabled, a minimum sample rate of 0.00305/channel and a max of 100/channel. My desired rate is 0.016667 (1 sample per minute). From the blog: "[-F[d:path]setupfile]
running an obsolete instrument DI-148U with WIN10
Is it possible to run an obsolete Dataq instrument - DI-148U - with WIN 10? If not, what is my best option?
.NET SDK
Hi, I am looking for a online help for the V2 (.NET) SDK, similar to https://www.dataq.com/resources/installations/web-help/sdk/ which refers exclusively to the V1 SDK. I am trying to write a C# software for communication to the DI-1110, which is not supported by the V1 SDK. Some C# sample code would also be helpful (the VB code samples are not very helpful) thanks Ralf
DI-245 Serial communication receiver code
Hi, I want to use labview programming for DI-245. Because I need to record the data with YOKOGAWA WT310E(power meter). Now I connected the YOKOGAWA power meter with LABview and can read the data from it. I get the DI-245 communicate program, it is 00 41 32 00 4E 5A 00 4E 30(hexadecimal). And the baud rate is 19200. I sent 00 41 32 00 4E 5A 00 4E 30 from PC to DI-245 by serial debugging assistant. And get the reply from DI-245. I short 4channel positive input and negative input. Adjust
DI-1100 communication
Hi, I am planning to use DI-1100 with Arduino for one of my application. 1) Is it possible to do so ? 2) Hardware connections RX, TX and GND from Arduino board ---FT232 (USB TO UART)-----DI1100. Correct? 3) Serial bus configuration? e.g. Baurdrate etc. Regards, Ketan
Need to see 24 hours worth of Data on one Screen
I bought the DI-1100 and I need to see a and print a days worth (24 hours) of data I am collecting. We are running a science experiment for a year, and would like to have the data condensed visually.
Windaq installing only light version
I recently replaced my computer and am having to now reinstall Windaq - for some reason, even when I input my password/serial number from the DVD sleeve it still only installs the lite version. I have downloaded a fresh install from the web, still the same. My PC is a windows 7 Pro machine thanks Jeff
Sample Rate
We have a DI1100, and we are creating a custom app for it using the .Net SDK. The app mostly works, but I'd like to slow down the sample rate. What is the definition of the value passed into the SetSampleRateOnChannels() function? I tried retrieving the min and max like this: ReadOnlyRange<double> lstSampleRateRange = (targetDevice.Channels[0] as Dataq.Devices.Dynamic.IChannelSampleRate).GetSupportedSampleRateRange(targetDevice); (targetDevice refers to the DI1100, and it is working) SetSampleRateOnChannels()
Saving D1-1120 settings
Is there a simple way to save my last settings so that I don't have to set everything back up each time when opening up the program?
