DataqSDK.Log File Creation Issues
I've been using the DataqSDK control within Visual Studio (VB) for several years now and have a problem that lingers that I cannot solve no matter what I've tried. When using this control for developing programs that use DataQ hardware, a "DataqSDK.Log" file gets generated both at run time AND design time, any time any form is activated that contains this control. Yes, even in the IDE, the file gets created at design time when any time a form is opened that contains it. The problem is, files cannot be created on our file systems by a program at any time without running the IDE and/or the program at run time in Administrator mode. It simply cannot happen, so what I get are constant dialog boxes every time my program runs OR I'm working on a form that contains DataqSDK Control within my IDE. It is quite frustrating. I've attached a screen shot of this dialog box. When I looked more into resolving the issue, I found out that there is a TPDATAQ.ini file that resides in the C:\Windows directory that configures settings such as this and that the option to have the log file created can be suppressed by eliminating the "debug=1" under the "Global" heading in the file. Well, I've tried this on numerous occasion and nothing will stop the log file from being created. I was told by Dataq support to just delete the line from the file and save it. I've done that with no success. I cannot see what else is even possible. I've removed the file completely as well and it still acts the same. I'm really hoping that someone might have a solution to this extremely annoying problem. I'm about to relinquish all of our company Dataq hardware and go somewhere else if I can't get this solved here. I've been told by Dataq support staff that SDK support is limited and have had very little actual help from this regarding this. Has anyone seen this issue or had any luck resolving it? Your help would truly be appreciated.
