DI-1100 building a 3 phase amperage logger
I work with CNC stuff a lot and sometimes troubleshooting would be easier if I could see what is happening on 3-4 different power cables at the same time.
So I've been running down a rabbit hole and came to the DI-1100 as a possible solution. My current idea is to run three Split Core Current Sensors (
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08P5NH98QSplit Core Current ), one for each leg of the 3 phase to monitor amperage. Testing will happen with low voltage/amperage on a benchtop to make sure I don't need to drop a resistor in.
The gist of it is to see when I'm having an imbalance in amperage draw to help narrow down troubleshooting efforts. Generally when there is a minor wire break amp draw goes up on two legs to make up for the higher resistance on the third.
The long and short is, will the DI-1100 kit be a good fit for it? I'm hoping I can see around 3-5 readings per second.
There is an article showing a different logger being used to record amperage on a single line rather than three.
