DI-2108 CDC Mode - Overcurrent Exploded
I just purchased a DI-2108 and put it into CDC mode for serial communication over USB connected to a Raspberry PI. When the device is idle, and LED flashes yellow, after several hours it will randomly turn off. The LED goes off completely. >>>Replugging the device does not turn it back on<<<
To turn it on, I tried plugging it into several other computers, eventually it seems to randomly come back on. But will go out again after several hours. When I look at the Raspberry Pi's logs $ dmesg, I see:
[ 1816.249229] usb 1-1-port3: over-current change
[ 1816.505228] usb 1-1-port3: over-current change
[ 1816.761219] usb 1-1-port3: over-current change
[ 1817.017227] usb 1-1-port3: over-current change
[ 1817.273223] usb 1-1-port3: over-current change
[ 1817.529227] usb 1-1-port3: over-current change
[ 1817.785198] usb 1-1-port3: over-current change
[ 1818.041201] usb 1-1-port3: over-current change
[ 1818.297217] usb 1-1-port3: over-current change
[ 1818.553225] usb 1-1-port3: over-current change
I've also noticed that when the device does turn on, the LED briefly flashes magenta before going yellow. And sometimes the yellow seems darker almost orange? Maybe it's just my eyes, but it seems like this device is faulty?
